Low Impact Living Calculator

Low Impact Calculator

I am sure you’ve all heard of the Ecological Footprint Calculator. I recently had to re-take mine for a Biology course, and my footprint had shrunk from 23 to 14 (when I first took it, a year and a half ago before the green revolution took over our household). Not bad.

Another calculator is the Low Impact Living Calculator which will calculate specifically on your housing. It’s a nice way to really ‘pinpoint’ an area you can do more in. The Ecological Footprint is so broad at times, it’s hard to know where to start. Plus, the Low Impact Living calculator gives many great tips at the end at what to do. It was hard for me, because I rent, to know some of the answers – ex. how old is my refrigerator? Is my apartment insulated well, fair or not well at all?. But I still scored a 40, lower than the average 100.

What’s your score?
