Green Smoothie Challenge

I am taking the 30 Day Green Smoothie challenge from Happy Foody. A green smoothie is a smoothie made using fruit and ‘greens’ such as spinach, kale or celery. Usually using 30-40% greens and 60-70% fruit. It is a great way to get the nutrients and antioxidants your body craves!
The idea is to drink a 16 oz. green smoothie every day, ideally for breakfast, and ideally along with a raw foods diet.
I tried making green smoothies last week too, and it worked pretty well. They can last for 3 days in the fridge, so I can make them the night before to have for breakfast.
Today was the first day. My recipe was:
1 handful spinach leaves
2 frozen bananas
1 orange, peeled
and 1 cup water
Blend altogether on puree and enjoy!
I shared it with Brooke, so I might’ve not gotten the full 16 oz. But it was still delicious! If I increase the calories and amount it will hopefully replace breakfast altogether and help me last until lunch.
Even though the first day has passed, it’s not too late to take the challenge and try! Supposedly we’ll feel amazing results and health benefits, including more energy – I am very excited for this challenge.

I would suggest a good yogurt instead of water.
It’s makes it thicker, yum!

I don’t like the tartness of yogurt. Adding some tofu is great.
