I thought I’d share with you my Earth Day or “Creation Sunday” curriculum I created for my Preschoolers and 1s & 2s.
I ended up writing it myself because I couldn’t find anything available. So I wouldn’t say I am the most phenomenal writer, but maybe this would give you some ideas and a start to write something of your own.
Please remember this curriculum is only for use by churches, non-profits, homeschoolers, or schools. Please do not try to sell it or profit from it. Or I’ll come to get ya!
Updated: Here’s another great link from Earlychildhood NEWS with 21 articles related to Earth Day and preschoolers!
Here is also a round-up of some Earth Day Craft Ideas I found online, we are going to make the Egg Carton Flowers in the Preschool class. The 1s&2s just color a picture.
- My Planet Earth (out of recycled crayon bits, very lovely, great for a smaller group of kids or for home!)
- Kids Domain: Earth Day Crafts (great selection!)
- Kids Domain: Earth Day (a number of great ideas and activities kids can do)
- DLTK Earth Day Activities for Kids
- About.com: Celebrate Earth Day
- ChildFun: Earth Day Ideas (too many adds, but good ideas, if you can find them!)
- Earth Day Unit: Poems and Songs (great for preschoolers!)
- Egg Carton Flower Craft (any crafts out of recycled items are great! We are doing this for 200 kids, they each can make 1-3 flowers)
- Another Egg Carton Flowers (better pictures!)
- Egg Carton Animals (love the caterpillar!)
- More Egg Carton Ideas – the cross is great!
