Paperless Checking is Here!

Well, it is March 13 – which means ING Direct is launching Electric Orange – a paperless checking account! We are looking into signing up for this- actually we did sign up for a savings account a few years ago, so there probably is an account floating around somewhere that we should look for – but we never really did much with it (it was before we got married, so I think with the move and everything we forgot about it, and we didn’t really know anything about money yet).
Even if we don’t sign up for the checking account, we are looking into the high yield savings – with 4.50% rate! You just sync it up with your regular checking account, and it transfers money out – so it is easy to get to your money when needed. I am thinking about doing this for our Emergency Fund. Because it will 1) Make it less accessible 2) Hopefully “out of sight, out of mind” so we don’t dip in to it for “non” emergency’s 3) We will gain a lot more interest on it than in our current savings!
So ING is worth checking into, I get nervous when it comes to making investments with stocks, etc. so this is a pain free way to be saving my money (and not having to worry about it, check up on it much).
